In the smasi App, you can easily store and collect your valuable knowledge locally on your device. It would be disastrous if your content were to be lost for any reason. Be it due to theft, loss, defect of your device or because you uninstall the app by mistake and delete the data.

Therefore, I recommend that you regularly back up your knowledge treasures. The smasi App offers an integrated backup function so that you can easily create a backup copy of your collections. Of course, it is also easy to restore a backup if required.
Backup Procedure
The following instructions show you the necessary steps:
Call the backup function on the start page
Perform data backup (ZIP file will be created)
Transfer backup file to a secure location
Create data backup
1) Open start page
Start the smasi App where your knowledge collections are located. On the start page, where all collections are listed, you will find the discreet menu with the 3 dots at the top right:

Note: If you are in an open collection, you must first tap on 'Open another collection' in the top left of the navigation bar to return to the start page.
2) Invoke backup function
As soon as you tap the menu at the top right of the start page, you will find the command 'Create backup'. Now click on this command:

3) Save desired collections
All existing collections are listed in the following dialog box. By default, all collections are selected for data backup. If required, you can also select only certain collections for backup.

Finally, you can start the data backup using the 'Execute' button below. Creating the ZIP file with all selected collections may take a moment.
4) Transfer the backup to a secure location
Please be patient until the backup file has been created and you receive the following message. However, the created data backup is still stored locally on your device and is not yet safely stored!

It is recommended to transfer the created backup to a cloud storage. To do this, click on 'Transfer', which allows you to copy the backup file to a secure location (such as iCloud Drive or Google Drive).
